About the Trinity Cert TESOL at Chester

The Trinity College London Cert TESOL tefl certificate course is a tefl course which is recognised worldwide. It provides many thousands of people with a career that combines academic study, teaching and teacher management, and continuous association with other cultures in the UK and around the world.

The course

Chester runs a four-week intensive tefl training course. It is a demanding yet stimulating course which requires a lot of commitment and hard work. The intensive nature of the course and the commitment needed develop a strong team feeling among the trainees and between trainees and trainers. Our trainers are experienced in bringing out the best in trainees during the course which leads to a hardworking but enjoyable atmosphere.

Without ignoring theoretical aspects, the course will be as practical as possible. At Chester we believe strongly in a participative approach and to that end trainees will take part in the sessions through pairwork and groupwork. This will be especially evident in the workshops given throughout the course.

Course content

The following are some of the main elements of the Chester Trinity Cert TESOL tefl certificate course:

  • Language awareness This includes grammar, lexis and phonology.

  • Teaching practice including methodology, lesson planning, classroom management and teaching techniques. The teaching practice will include teaching real language students.

  • Guided observation of experienced teachers.

  • Foreign language classes in a language which is unknown to the trainees. This will give trainees experience of some of the difficulties which language learners meet and also allow them to see at first hand a range of language teaching procedures.

  • Input sessions The input sessions will be given in the form of seminars or workshops. Seminars will deal more with the theoretical nature of a subject, while workshops will involve practical ideas which will be demonstrated and wherever possible performed by the trainees.
